Inspired to encourage others to make a meaningful future gift to charity and motivated by the examples of The Gift Movement announced by Buffett and Gates, a grass roots committee of volunteers advocated for and received a Legislative Resolution declaring October 1, 2010 as
California Plan Your Giving Day
VISION: For all Californians to leave the world a better place for future generations by making a meaningful gift to charity through their estate plan.
MISSION: Get Californians to announce meaningful gifts to charity in their wills so planned gifts become commonplace.
- Launch Sacramento Effort and Secured 50 pledges between May 1 and October 1, 2010
- Launch statewide effort November 2010 to secure 1,000 pledges from at least 10 different California cities by October 1, 2011
- Secure 3,000 pledges within the next 3-5 years
You don't have to be a millionaire to change the future! Join individuals and families in California who are planning to leave a meaningful gift to their favorite charities in their estate plan.
